CSDK1 - Meissner Effect

Demonstration of basic property of superconductors - Meissner Effect (expulsion of a magnetic field from a superconductor during its transition to the superconducting state)

Levitation of a small rare earth magnet above high temperature superconductor YBaCuO disk cooled by liquid nitrogen. (Note:The disk does not exhibit strong levitation force. To demonstrate strong levitation/suspension experiments please choose our Demonstration Kit 2. For other levitation experiments, superconducting train models etc. please choose from our levitation disks range.)

The kit contains:

• 1× YBCO-123 disk for Meissner Effect, diameter 22 mm, height 3 mm
• 1× small rare earth magnet, NdFeB, diameter 4 mm, height 1.5 mm, grade N42
• 1× tweezers
• 1× insulation cup
• 1× instructions
